FLEXCHEM -- COLORITES PVC ALTERNATIVE TO

Its unique rheology enables it to be extruded into narrow tapes (unlike conventional PVC compounds), then fed into auxiliary punching equipment and handled via automated robotics. This type of thin film production is ideal for medical product applications where consistent thickness and flatness are important. Performance tests demonstrate that Flexchem works just as well as silicone rubber in many such applications -- and at a substantially lower cost! Flexchem compounds are white or translucent and can also be colored. They are sterilizable, and contain FDA-sanctioned ingredients appropriate for use in USP Class VI medical applications. In related areas, Flexchem has been shown to offer excellent properties as an alternative to silicone in applications where a high degree of resilience is required. Their natural resiliency makes them the ideal, cost-friendly choice for tubing which is pinched and released repeatedly in medical applications, such as peristaltic pump tubing. Flexchem is available in durometers from 35 to 65 Shore A. It is easy to process on conventional equipment and meets USP Class VI requirements. Because it is vinyl, Flexchem also accepts printing better than silicone and it can be heat, RF or solvent welded -- making it easier to assemble medical devices that are relatively complicated.
